Every family belongs here

Different homes. Different stories. The same long nights.

The 1AM Club reflects the parents, carers and children who make up our communities—because every family deserves to feel seen in the support they turn to.

Nobody prepared us for this

High-needs doesn’t end when the colic does.

Sometimes the baby who needed constant movement, contact and reassurance becomes the toddler who feels everything deeply, sleeps lightly and needs you intensely.

This is a place for the whole journey—not quick fixes, perfect routines or judgement.

Why this club exists

I lived the nights that felt like they would never end.

I created The 1AM Club because I remember searching for answers in the middle of the night—colic, reflux, broken sleep, constant crying—and still feeling completely alone. This is the club none of us planned to join, but nobody should have to survive it by themselves. Here, lived experience sits alongside careful, responsible information so parents feel seen and better equipped to ask for the right support.

A little clarity

Questions parents ask at 3am.

What does “high-needs baby” mean?+

It is an informal phrase many parents use for babies who are especially alert, sensitive, intense, wakeful or in need of close contact. It is not a medical diagnosis.

Is colic my fault?+

No. Persistent crying can be deeply distressing, but it is not evidence of poor parenting. If you are concerned about your baby, seek personalised advice from a qualified health professional.

When should I ask for urgent help?+

Trust your instincts. Seek urgent medical help if your baby is struggling to breathe, unusually difficult to wake, has blue or very pale skin, a seizure, a rash that does not fade under pressure, or you believe something is seriously wrong.
